Willie Nelson – Moment of forever
Received this cd last week, and I like it a lot. It’s classic Willie but with a bit of a modern twist ;). The gravedigger Dave Matthews cover is on this one as well, which worth the price of the cd alone ! You don’t think I am funny anymore is another one of my favorites. The cd closes with Dylan’s You gotta serve somebody.
Make sure to check it out if you’re into 70+ year old singers ;).
Dr. Michio Kaku
|
This is a very interesting guy, I had been reading up on since he appeared no Scott Hanselman’s podcast. I guess I should order one of his books as well ;). Especially the Hanselman interview is a very nice start to get into the subject of the ‘impossible physics’. |

Tape Trading
Back in the day when you wanted to hear your favorite artist play live shows, you had to trade tapes with other people, you found through newsgroups and forums (and earlier on even magazines).
A column on Ants Marching (a DMB website) brought back some nice memories. It was a lot of hassle to copy tapes, going to the postoffice etc. But it it all paid off when the mailman delivered that low-gen tape of a show that was performed just a few months back ;).
Tape Trading – How trading was back then

My trading circles must have been a little different, Maxell XL II (and later the more expensive XL-II-S) as well as TDK-SA and some Sony (cant remember exactly what name) tapes were acceptable.
Willie Nelson – Gravedigger
Willie has covered one of my favorite Dave Matthews songs, Gravedigger. There is a wonderful video up on YouTube. Unfortunetely embedding is disabled but you can follow the link below ;).

9 Crimes
After watching Shrek 3 on Xmas, I kept thinking about this song. Weird enough it’s not on the official soundtrack, but luckily found some versions on YouTube to listen / watch.
Phil Lesh and Friends
The torrents of the 31/10 – 8/11 shows Phil did in NYC are now available as a Xmas gift from bt.etree.org.
Thanks Phil :).
Perhaps a nightmare
My friend John Fink has released a cd named ‘perhaps a nightmare’. He has been a musician for a long time, and has made several scores for documentary movies, and now released his first solo album. The music is very much like a movie score, you can now envision the scenes he describes with his music in your own mind :).
All proceeds of the cd will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund. John’s wife was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. Luckily she’s doing a lot better now after chemo and radiation therapy.
You can get the cd from cdbaby or John’s site.
