This week not much of a recap. Just some thought I had after watching this episode. I watched this show without looking at any forums or blogs, so I was spoiler free. Except for the title ofcourse, which led me to believe it would be about the outside world, assuming that Oceanic Flight 815 crashed near Bali without any survivors.

Lost 4×01 – The Beginning of the End
So after a long wait, we pick up where we left off. I’ll be writing recaps with some thoughts / commentary and/or interesting things I heard / read thrown in here as I did in season 3. It’s nice to look back at it later and it’s something of a diary I’d like to keep !
Jack is watching a car chase on TV, and Hurley turns out to be the driver. After all that he ends up in a psychiatric institution. He seems to be really happy about that, probably just wants to get away from it all and be in a protected environment.
Don’t you know who I am ? I am one of the Oceanic Six !
9 Crimes
After watching Shrek 3 on Xmas, I kept thinking about this song. Weird enough it’s not on the official soundtrack, but luckily found some versions on YouTube to listen / watch.
House MD
Over the past few weeks, I watched a lot of House. I have no clue why that excellent show didn’t catch my attention earlier, but I did a lot of catching up :). Bought the season I & II dvds, and have season III incoming from amazon.com.
This is one of my favourite scenes. It’s from Season III that’s being broadcast at the moment on dutch tv on thursday nights. Excellent part by Dave Matthews !

Battlestar Gallactica Cast Unhappy ?
From scifi.com:
Cast members of SCI FI Channel’s original series Battlestar Galactica
told reporters that they weren’t happy at first to discover that their
characters were Cylons, but they have come to terms with the
revelation in their own ways-and hinted the Cylons may not be what
they appear.
Top 100 Movies
The American Film Institute has released their annual list of the Top 100 Movies.
1 CITIZEN KANE
2 THE GODFATHER
3 CASABLANCA
4 RAGING BULL
5 SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN
6 GONE WITH THE WIND
7 LAWRENCE OF ARABIA
8 SCHINDLER’S LIST
9 VERTIGO
10 THE WIZARD OF OZ
Their site has a nice tour of the top 100 and some other nice info / trivia. Can’t find much wrong with the list.
It’s remarkable Raging Bull has now entered the Top 10. The Searchers (John Wayne) from 1956 charged the chart from 96 to 12 !
Sopranos: Made in America
After watching the final episode all I could think was: ‘So this was it ?‘. A pretty lacklustre final episode, the only thing that was even close to exciting / interesting was the killing of Leotardo. AJ got really on my nerves this episode. And what happened to Tony’s huge gun ? Everybody thought it would play some sort of role this episode, only to be never seen again.
I watched the final scene a few times, and it sort of hints as if something is coming, but we all know Chase likes to suggest things that eventually never happen. I just think that this series, one of the best in TV history, deserved a better ending…
Anyway here are some links And ofcourse there is plenty more all over the blogosphere !

Lost: Through the looking glass
So much happened in this final episode of the season, luckily we have eight months to think about it all 😉 . I’ll just post some thoughts for now.
I was cheering out loud when Hurley rescued the hostages on the beach. After being brushed off twice for being too big and only running in the way, Hurley grabs the old volkswagen van and puts it to good use ;). One of the best moments I’ve ever seen on television, it was so nice. And then later on his rant on the walky to the Others was very funny.
Charley died just like Desmond had seen in a flash. It seems he didnt have to die, but he felt he had to make the sacrifice to get the other beach people off the island.
After seeing Jack in such a bad shape during the flashforward scenes, it seems Ben was right. Why does Jack want to get off the island so badly ? He wasnt doing very well before the crash and sure is even worse when he gets back. The period on the island was where he shined, leading the beachfolks to the rescue. What was he referring to when he said “I am so sick of lieing” ? at the final scene with Kate ? What has he been lieing about ? How they were rescued ? Where they had been ? I thought that was kind of odd.
Who was Naomi and who does she work for ? Not too sure about that. I think next season something will happen and they dont get off the island at all. There is still a lot more to learn about Jacob and the island and Locke’s destiny.
Just some thoughts for now, if I think of more, i’ll post some more here. What tv shows can I watch now ? Heroes, Jericho, Lost and Battlestar are all over.
